Red Glove

Red Glove
Author: Holly Black
Reviewer: Brittknee

Cassel Sharpe finds himself in more and more confusion, hatred, and pain In the sequel to White Cat, Red Glove By Holly Black. Lila, Cassel's love interest had been worked by family. He was forced to transform her into a cat, and then got worked into forgetting it ever happens. But three years later, he figured it out and undid the curse. Soon after, Cassel's mother, an emotion worker, curse Lila into loving Cassel unconditionally. Therefore any feelings she felt for him are fake, even though his are nothing but real; He is forced to not act on them.

Along with the heartache, Cassel finds himself in the federal agents eyes once his Older brother is murdered. They suspect he has evidence, and are blackmailing him to find out. Cassel must find out who murdered his brother, with the help of his two closest friends; Sam & Daneca. “Love is a curse and the con is the only answer in a game too dangerous to lose.” Will Cassel join the family business and be a mobster, and a murderer? Or will Cassel choose a life of simplicity? Where is the right place for a teenage transformation worker who has a good heart, but bad blood?

Red Glove held up every one of my expectations, and believe me I had very high ones! I love how it left off exactly where the first one ended. Some books don't do that, and its a little irritating. Cassel is changing in the simplest ways. You can see him more as a real person now, as before even though he didn't have a clue what or who he was, in this novel I feel as if he found himself a little more. There wasn't as much action fighting, scenes in this book which I personally like more, action things tend to lose my interest pretty fast. But this one it was more mystery and left you curious, and left you guessing!

Recommend to anyone who loved White cat, you won't be let down I'm sure! I adored every minute of it. If you like magic, gang related, with friendship, backstabbing, and a hint of love, then this is the series for you!

5/5 Literature Monsters!
